ANNUAL DINNER 2011

On a chilly but pleasant night in November, we gathered for our Annual Dinner, this time at Taurus on Canal Street.
This was this first time we'd used this venue and they did us proud.
The three course meal had been arranged with Michael (Polly) and Ric (his Manager) and I think an excellent choice it was.
I was particularly delighted to see so many of our members there, plus five guests - our best attendance for some years.
The excellent food was served on time by extremely efficient and pleasant staff. The most popular dessert was the Eton Mess - I never knew we had so many Old Etonians in the Club!!

As usual we had the Clubman of the Year, voted for by you the members, and this year's winner was Ian Allan.
There was also a presentation at the start of the meal of six wine glasses to Ian as a mark of the respect and esteem in which he is held in the Club, but also to mark a "significant" birthday!!!! Ian provided the welcome drinks.
There was also the presentation of the President's Cup, and this year's recipient was Roger Haythornthwaite, our Treasurer.
All in all, we had a thoroughly enjoyable night, and our sincere thanks go to everyone at Taurus for making it so.
I think I can safely say, we will be having further meals there.

MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

CHRISTMAS MESSAGE.

Dear friends
The Festive Season is now upon us so I presume you are all out spending money!!!! Or better still, looking forward to a few days off work - don't forget, the Tuesday after Christmas is a Bank Holiday!!!

Although this year has been a quiet year for the Club, we are slowly growing. This is encouraging when some clubs are closing or having difficulties. Who would have thought this time last year that East Mercia MSC would fold??

MSC MSC are hosting the FUKC Conference next June, and plans for this are well in place. Let us all pull together to make this event the success I know it will be. Let our motto be TBA - THINK positive, BE positive, ACT positive!!!

May I wish you all the Peace and Joy of the Festive Season, have a very Happy Christmas and a healthy and prosperous 2012.

Yours in Brotherhood
David.
President.
